5 things I never forgot again after I started sending voice notes to WhatsApp

How to use AI on WhatsApp to never miss a bill, an idea, or an appointment again. No new app, no typing.

I used to forget everything. Dentist appointments, electricity bills, ideas I had in the shower, my wife's birthday present. It wasn't for lack of tools — I'd tried Todoist, Google Keep, Notion, iPhone reminders. The tool was never the problem. The problem was that I never opened the tool at the moment I remembered.

You know when ideas come? In the car. In the shower. Walking down the street. Standing in line at the grocery store. In none of those moments am I going to open an app, create a card, categorize it, set a date. It's just not going to happen.

So I started sending voice notes to WhatsApp. An AI bot on the other end listens, transcribes, understands what I meant, and organizes everything on its own. No typing. No opening apps. No categorizing anything.

Here are 5 things I never forgot again — and how it actually works.

1. Bills to pay

Before: a bill would arrive, I'd think "I'll pay it tomorrow", and tomorrow would turn into 3 days late with a fee.

Now: "Remind me to pay the electricity bill on the 15th, R$187". I send the voice note in 5 seconds. On the 15th, the bot reminds me on WhatsApp and in the app. I pay the bill, send "paid the electricity" and it marks it as done.

What the AI does: understands it's a reminder with a date, extracts the amount, categorizes it as "finances", schedules the notification.

2. Grocery lists (that grow throughout the week)

Before: I'd arrive at the store and remember 3 out of 12 items.

Now: throughout the week, every time I notice something's missing, I send: "We're out of milk", "Buy diapers", "Need AAA batteries". The bot adds everything to my shopping list automatically. When I get to the store, I send "/shopping" and get the complete list.

What the AI does: identifies purchase intent, groups items in the same "shopping" reminder, doesn't duplicate.

3. Ideas that come at the worst time

Before: the idea would come in the shower, I'd think "I'll write it down later", and never remember it again.

Now: I get out of the shower, grab my phone, send a 10-second voice note explaining the idea. The bot transcribes and saves it as a note. I don't need to open anything, create a title, or choose a folder. Just talk.

What the AI does: transcribes audio, identifies it as a note (not a reminder, not a purchase), saves with date and context.

4. Appointments I'd agree to and forget

Before: someone would say "let's grab lunch Thursday" and I'd agree. Thursday would come and I'd have scheduled something else.

Now: the moment I agree, I send: "Lunch with Marcus Thursday 12pm at the restaurant". The bot creates the reminder with date, time and place. Thursday morning I get the notification.

What the AI does: extracts person, day of the week (converts to actual date), time and location. All from a 5-second voice note.

5. Expenses I lost track of

Before: at the end of the month I'd look at my bank statement and think "where did I spend all that?"

Now: every time I pay for something meaningful, I send: "Paid $15 for Uber", "Spent $80 at the grocery store". The bot records it as an expense with amount, category and date. At the end of the month I have a real summary — not based on a generic bank statement, but on what I consciously recorded.

What the AI does: extracts amount, identifies spending category, saves with date and allows queries later.

Why it works (and other apps didn't)

It's not that Todoist or Notion are bad. They're great — for people who sit at a computer and organize things. I'm not that person. I'm the person who remembers things while walking down the street with both hands full.

WhatsApp is already open. Sending a voice note takes 5 seconds. The AI handles the rest. The friction dropped to zero — and when friction is zero, the habit sticks.

If you're like me, give it a try. Send "hi" to OverAir on WhatsApp and say anything you need to remember. The AI organizes it. You just talk.
